President Donald Trump said Thursday that he “absolutely” believed North Korea was behind a recent cyberattack that has targeted several American companies and businesses.
During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump said he was “completely wrong” in saying the country was behind the cyberattack, which took place last month.
“I totally said North Korea had been involved in it, but it’s been proved wrong,” Trump said.
“They’re not involved.”
Trump has called the cyberattacks “totally unacceptable” and has repeatedly called for a global arms reduction agreement with North Korea.
“We’ve got to come to grips with this, this is a very dangerous situation,” Trump told the Journal.
“If it continues to get worse, we have to take it to the other side.”
