MONDAY, Aug. 26 (HealthDay News) — The Florida Department of Health reports that a dolphin has been attacked and killed in Miami.
Dolphins are a protected species, but it’s not known how many of them are currently in captivity in the United States.
Diving, boating and other recreational activities are allowed, but they can be dangerous.
The Miami Herald reports that the dolphin died after being attacked and was brought to a veterinarian for evaluation.
The Herald reports:Dolphins live in tropical waters and can be found all around the world, but there are few studies on the species.
In fact, there are only a few reports on the dolphin population.
In 2007, a dolphin was found dead off the coast of Australia.
In 2013, a baby dolphin was born in Miami, Florida.
Dolphins are a vulnerable species, and it’s important that everyone stays aware of what to do and not do if you see one.
